>one< ist das debŸtalbum von ben klock. ein album, das in seiner visionŠren strahlkraft nahtlos an das shed-album auf ostgut ton anschlie§t. >one< ist ein extrem starkes techno-album, das in seiner eigenstŠndigkeit zu einem frŸhen hšhepunkt des jahres 2009 zŠhlen dŸrfte. zumindest sitzt die messlatte - auch fŸr ostgut ton - jetzt erst einmal erfreulich hoch

ben ufo betreibt mit david kennedy (pearson sound) und kevin mcauley (pangaea) das bassmusik-label hessle audio und liefert mit seinem fabric-set eine eklektische mixtur aus allen subgenres aktueller bassmusik & dubstep und klassischem house und techno, in der so unterschiedliche artists wie tim love lee, shackleton, k-hand, pearson sound, herbert und mr. fingers aufeinander folgen.

ben klock zeigt auf no. 66 ein schonungsloses insider-set, wie eine entdeckungsreise. statt der hits waehlt er raritaeten und unveroeffentlichte tracks wie zb. von staffan linzatti, sagat, k-hand und dj bone werden kombiniert mit oldskool-favoriten von josh wink, robert hood (aka floorplan), luke slater (aka planetary assault systems), dvs1 und technasia, die wirklich nur ein langjaehriger trainspotter kennen kann. dazwischen mischt er den uk dubstep-helden burial, brandneues material von mathew jonson, sigg gonzalez und sagat, eigene produktionen, edits und reworks, sowie neue cuts seines labels klockworks. ein fantastischer mixtrip von au§ergewoehnlicher und kompromissloser qualitaet!

bxl003 is the third release of the artist-run brussels based label bxl. this third release by simon halsberghe features a collaboration with sagat (real name wiet lengeler), who previously released on the brussels’ label vlek and had his music included in the fabric mixes of both ben klock and joris voorn. the track is called the set-up and is a relentless sawtooth rave tune that finds it’s balance between the heydays of belgian techno and more contemporary ‘hi-fi’ attitudes towards functional yet idiosyncratic dance tracks. on the b-side space tom sounds is a deeper and more hypnotic trip with lush broad pads that provide a space for the mind as well as sonic pressure on the body. the last track, snared, takes things into breakbeat territory. with razor sharp snares and a pulsating baseline this track lives somewhere in the venn diagram overlap between rave, front 242 and an air raid siren going off.
